I am healthy…
There are two things that Karen can do for you even when you're perfectly healthy. First one is having a space to store all of your personal health information. These can be files like labs, they can be files like blood tests, any other types of information given to you by your doctor or teams of doctors in order to quantify yours. Current status, a lot of times we have those files in pdf format but they aren't necessarily in an accessible format anywhere we are at any time of need. You should just have them in a cloud based system and Karen is that system that can make all of that information stored securely and accessible whenever you need it.
The second thing that Karen can do for you is help you take a baseline of your health, by tracking symptoms. Symptom tracking is the ability to capture symptoms that can be associated with everyday life, but something that you just want to make sure that you understand where you are. Pain, nausea, muscle weakness, fatigue, are examples of symptoms that can all be measured on a four-point scale of none, mild, moderate or severe. And Karen allows you to measure those over time. We recommend that you track select symptoms that matter to you for a week, to give you real-time longitudinal charting your baseline symptom severity. You can use those charts with your doctors at your routine checkups.
Tracking vitals is similar. These are your blood pressure, heart rate, and other metrics that you can take on an ongoing basis just to kind of see where your normal range is. And when that information is given to your doctor, they have a very good view of what's happening for you over the course of your normal life, not just while you’re in their office.
That's very helpful for them. But more importantly, it's very helpful for you.
And lastly, incidents. Incidents are things that happen that are out of the ordinary that you want to capture. So for example, let's say you're prone to migraines and you want to capture when you have them. With Karen you have the ability to use the incident reporting function to capture the event and categorize its severity as, again, none, mild, moderate or severe. There's a comprehensive list that you can view to see what kinds of incidents for you to capture and track.
So even if you're 100% healthy, Karen can provide a space for you to have your personal health information over time. Store your past personal health information files, capture prospective information on symptoms, vitals and incidents, and then have those charts and reports for your doctor or doctors when you're having your normal checkups.
